VAHLE expands presence in India: New company building opened in Chennai
VAHLE opens new company building in Chennai:
From here, VAHLE India manages sales, logistics and customer service, thereby strengthening customer proximity and growth in one of the most important industrial locations in southern India.
Paul Vahle GmbH & Co. KG is continuing its international growth strategy and has opened a new facility in Chennai, one of the most important industrial regions in southern India. The world's leading system provider for mobile industrial applications is consolidating its sales, logistics and customer service activities there, thereby establishing a strategic centre for the Indian market.
"The decision to choose this location was based on intensive analysis. In addition to suitable warehouse and office space, the infrastructure, accessibility and proximity to customers were decisive factors," explains Achim Dries, CEO of the VAHLE Group. "From Chennai, we can shorten delivery times and manage projects and services even more efficiently directly on site."
The grand opening with a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony was held together with important partner companies: the Adani Group, a leading Indian conglomerate focusing on energy and infrastructure, and NRW Global Business, the economic development agency of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
With the new opening in Sai Industrial Park, VAHLE is strengthening its operational presence in India and creating additional capacity for further growth. The approximately 500 square metre building, representing an investment of around €100,000, forms the infrastructural basis for efficient processes and even closer customer proximity. The local team currently comprises seven employees and is to be gradually expanded to ten as the market develops further. Ramesh Kumar has been Managing Director of the Indian unit since the subsidiary was founded in 2023.
Chennai is an important industrial location with strong growth in the automotive manufacturing, ports, crane construction and general industrial automation sectors. These clusters make the location particularly attractive for VAHLE's expansion.
From there, VAHLE India is responsible for sales, all regional business processes, project planning and technical implementation. In addition, central warehouse capacities, including spare parts management, are controlled to ensure fast and reliable nationwide delivery. Customers receive comprehensive support directly on site. The range of services also includes repair and replacement logistics, preventive maintenance contracts and support for testing and validation processes.
"With the new premises, we are laying the foundation for sustainable growth and even closer customer proximity in India. At the same time, we are giving our team the space they need for the next steps in their development," says Dries. "This is a consistent implementation of our long-term strategy to expand India as an important growth market and provide our customers with the best possible support."
