VAHLE Christmas donation campaign: 10,000 euros for children's and youth hospice in Unna
Once again this year, Paul Vahle GmbH & Co. KG supported the outpatient children's and youth hospice service (AKHD) in the district of Unna with a generous donation. Thanks to the commitment of the employees and a top-up from the company, an impressive total of 10,000 euros was raised.
The HR department of the Kamen-based family business organized creative campaigns in the run-up to Christmas, which collected numerous donations in cash and in kind. An Advent cake bazaar raised over 1,000 euros, and a further 1,400 euros were donated at the staff meeting. In addition to the event-related donations, a further 1,500 euros was raised. This sum was rounded up by the company to a total of 10,000 euros. In addition, various vouchers from local service providers and online stores were donated, which are available to the hospice for outings such as ice cream or visits to the cinema, as well as for activities such as family breakfasts or reading sessions.
The donations will be used to support meetings and discussions for children and young people with life-shortening illnesses and their families. Yesterday, the symbolic donation was handed over to Nadine Franke from AKHD as part of a cheque presentation.
"The turn of the year is a time of reflection and hope. However, this time is often particularly challenging for seriously ill children and their families. That's why this fundraising campaign is very close to our hearts," explains Achim Dries, Managing Director of Paul Vahle GmbH & Co.
The outpatient hospice service for children and young people accompanies young people with life-shortening illnesses and their families from diagnosis until after death. With services such as self-help groups, grief counseling and family breakfasts, the AKHD gives affected families strength and valuable time out from everyday life.
"Giving and doing good brings joy. Our employees have shared this joy and participated in the fundraising campaign with great commitment," adds Dries. The donations collected underline VAHLE's close ties with the region and the company's social commitment.
