The challenge
A leading steel manufacturer was planning to expand its production facilities by using new, fully automated cranes. These sophisticated systems required a powerful data communication solution that would enable continuous, trouble-free real-time control. In addition to technical functionality, the solution also had to meet strict budget requirements and fit into the limited installation space between the crane and the I-beam.
Our solution
VAHLE developed a customized solution based on the SMGX contactless high-speed data communication system - a robust platform for demanding automation environments. In close cooperation with the customer's engineering and operations departments, we ensured

The result
The SMGX solution met all project requirements - from mechanical compatibility and communication reliability to budget compliance. VAHLE was then selected as the supplier for the data communication systems for all automated cranes as part of the site expansion.
