St Nicholas party at VAHLE: Family celebration with tradition
The St Nicholas party has been a tradition at VAHLE since the 1960s. In 2025, employees and their families also celebrated together in the Kamen town hall.
Bright-eyed children, bulging St Nicholas bags and festive choir music: yesterday afternoon, VAHLE organised the traditional St Nicholas party for employees and their families in the Kamen town hall. A total of 61 children of VAHLE employees and 40 accompanying parents took part in the pre-Christmas family party. The children were delighted with lovingly packed gift bags and spent an atmospheric afternoon together with their families.
"For us as a family business, it is an important tradition to ring in the pre-Christmas season together," says Annika Blankenstein, Chairwoman of the Works Council at VAHLE, adding: "It is particularly nice to see how much joy the children have on this day. A big thank you to the children's choir for the wonderful musical accompaniment."
The celebration has been organised since the early 1960s. This year's event was musically accompanied by around 20 children from the choir of the Protestant parish of Kamen under the direction of cantor Gunther Antensteiner, who created a festive atmosphere with Christmas carols. This year, the festival took place in the Kamen town hall.
Blankenstein adds: "Year after year, the St Nicholas party shows how strongly community and family friendliness are practised at VAHLE. The smiling children's faces make it clear how valuable this tradition is."
For over sixty years, the VAHLE Works Council's St. Nicholas party has combined community, tradition and family friendliness, thus symbolising the special togetherness within the company.
