VAHLE receives ISO 14001 certification for its commitment to sustainability
Commitment to sustainability and environmental protection confirmed: VAHLE successfully certified according to DIN EN ISO 14001
Paul Vahle GmbH & Co. has received certification in accordance with the internationally recognized DIN EN ISO 14001 standard. The award confirms that the world's leading provider of energy and data transmission systems for mobile applications meets the highest standards in the area of sustainability and environmental protection. Christian Gerling, Managing Director of the German Association for the Certification of Management Systems (DQS GmbH), presented the official certificate to VAHLE CEO Achim Dries.
"The successful certification according to ISO 14001 marks another milestone for us on our way to a sustainable future. It not only confirms our commitment to environmental protection, but also represents an important criterion for our customers and at the same time acts as a clear signal for our business relationships," emphasizes Achim Dries, CEO at VAHLE. The central components of the standard include planning, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of environmental measures and processes.
Environmental management system audited by DQS
During the certification process, all processes of VAHLE's existing environmental management system were carefully examined by DQS auditors to ensure its effectiveness. Environmentally relevant aspects in various departments were examined, from ecological aspects in product development to the selection of suppliers and the handling of hazardous substances and waste separation and disposal. The result: The Kamen-based company's concept, which has been implemented and continuously developed for several years, meets all the requirements of the DIN EN ISO 14001 standard.
Reduction of energy consumption and CO2 emissions at the Kamen site
Christian Gerling, Managing Director of DQS, summarizes the analysis: "A particularly positive aspect of the audit report is the exemplary implementation of environmental aspects by VAHLE, which sets a real benchmark for industrial companies of this size in terms of compliance with normative requirements." Among other things, the report contains a thorough analysis of individual environmental factors as well as their opportunities and risks. Based on this, the company derives clear strategic and operational environmental goals in order to continuously improve the environmental management system. This includes, for example, reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions at the Kamen site.
Certification underlines commitment to sustainability and environmental protection
The certification underlines VAHLE's strong commitment to sustainability, environmental protection and occupational safety. In production, the systems provider already relies heavily on recyclable materials and reusable packaging. In the areas of development, design and purchasing, the focus is also on ecological factors, for example by integrating ease of repair right from the development phase.
Dries continues: "We see ourselves as pioneers for sustainability in the industry, not only within our company, but also with regard to the application of our products." For example, VAHLE technologies in ports or public spaces lead to significant reductions in emissions, in some cases even to zero emissions. This is due to the fact that VAHLE systems offer the possibility of replacing fossil fuels, in particular diesel generators, with electric solutions.
