VAHLE raises money for humanitarian aid in Ukraine
Paul Vahle GmbH & Co. KG supports the Caritas emergency aid for the victims of the Ukraine war with a donation of 25,000 euros. The Kamen-based company had already imposed an export ban on its products to Russia and Belarus on March 3, 2022.
"We are following the developments in Ukraine with great dismay. This war not only threatens the people on the ground, it is also an attack on all the principles of our international peace order," says Achim Dries, CEO of the VAHLE Group. In order to provide rapid assistance to those affected, the Kamen-based systems supplier has decided to support the Ukraine aid of Caritas international, the relief organization of the German Caritas.
On the initiative of the employees, money was collected for the war victims at a works meeting on Monday. In the process, 2,100 euros were collected. Paul Vahle GmbH & Co KG topped up this sum to 25,000 euros.
Dries emphasized that "there was immediately a great deal of agreement throughout the company to do our utmost and to get rapid financial support underway.
"Caritas international organizes hot meals and sheltered sleeping places for internally displaced persons in its 19 Caritas centers in Ukraine. On the ground, psychologists and social workers care for people traumatized by war. In addition, packages of food and hygiene supplies are distributed and safe transportation of displaced families to their relatives is arranged.
