Electric monorail systems (EMS) are overhead conveyors used to transport carriers, pallets or workpiece holders along defined routes. They are common in intralogistics — for example, in warehouses, distribution centers and supermarkets — as well as in automotive and industrial plants where bodies, subassemblies or components must be moved between process steps. By routing carriers above the floor, EMS solutions keep aisles and work areas clear for people, forklifts and other equipment.
Because EMS carriers are often driven and controlled individually or in small groups, they place high demands on electrification and control technology. At the same time, components must be compact, safe for personnel working underneath and reliable in multi-shift or 24/7 operation.

The safe and TÜV-tested VCS-SMG-SAFE and VCS-PCB-SAFE application control systems enable the simple implementation of safety functions using preconceived technology applications. Safe control and monitoring of the drive technology is fully implemented via the VCS-SMG-SAFE or VCS-PCB-SAFE.
