APOS Magnetic (Gliding)

Cranes, conveyors and heavy-duty industrial systems require precise and reliable position feedback under demanding operating conditions. The APOS Magnetic (Gliding) positioning system delivers absolute position values with millimeter-level accuracy using a robust magnetic scanning process.

The system operates with a magnetized code tape and a sliding read head that glides directly along the tape. This mechanically guided scanning method ensures stable signal acquisition and high repeat accuracy, even in environments exposed to vibration, dust, moisture and changing lighting conditions.

As an absolute positioning system, APOS Magnetic (Gliding) provides immediate position values after power-up or voltage interruptions. No reference movement or homing procedure is required.

Its compact design allows seamless integration with VAHLE conductor rail systems such as KBH and MKH, enabling a coordinated energy and positioning solution for crane systems, gantry cranes, bucket conveyors and automated material handling equipment.

In contrast to the touchless variant, the gliding version uses a sliding read head for direct magnetic scanning, offering a mechanically simple and highly robust positioning solution.
