Donations instead of Christmas presents: VAHLE supports the ASB Wish Wagon
VAHLE is once again foregoing customer gifts for Christmas. Instead, the Kamen-based company is handing over a donation of €3,500 to the Westphalia Wish Wagon of the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund RV Münsterland e.V. (ASB). With the vehicle stationed in Münster, the ASB regional association Münsterland has been fulfilling the travel wishes of seriously ill people throughout the Westphalia region since 2018.
"The Advent and Christmas season offers a very good opportunity to think about those people who are facing a particularly difficult time and could use all the help they can get," says Achim Dries, Managing Director of Paul Vahle GmbH & Co. For example, many people in their final phase of life long to visit a particular destination once again or to see beloved friends and family members again.
This is why the Workers' Samaritan Federation has the "Wish Wagon", which takes seriously ill people to their place of longing. "We would like to support this fascinating and purely voluntary commitment as part of our Christmas donation this year," explains Dries.
The Westphalian ASB "Wish Wagon" is stationed in Münster. The vehicle is a converted ambulance equipped with all the necessary aids and medical equipment. Trained rescue and nursing staff are on board to ensure that transportation is as safe as possible. The service is free of charge for passengers and accompanying persons. "With our financial support for this mainly donation-based project, we want to help make special wishes come true for seriously ill people in our region," explains the Managing Director.
The donation is made up of a company contribution and an amount from the staff's social fund.
