VAHLE donates protective masks for police and fire department
VAHLE donates FFP2 respirators to the police and fire department in Kamen, where the system supplier for mobile industrial applications has its headquarters. The face masks were supplied by the Chinese subsidiary VAHLE Mobilizing, based in Shanghai, as a sign of solidarity. In addition to the authorities in Kamen, VAHLE employees at other European locations were also supplied with masks.
Kamen, April 2, 2020 - "The majority of our employees have been working from home since mid-March in order to work reliably and safely from there. As the colleagues from production and logistics here in Kamen are already supplied, we are making the remaining masks available to those who need them more urgently," says Achim Dries, Managing Director of Paul Vahle GmbH & Co.
VAHLE is donating 250 masks each to the Kamen police and fire department. Sonja Wundrock, head of the Bergkamen police station and head of the district and priority services in Kamen, Bergkamen and Bönen, was delighted with the support and sent a patrol to collect the masks on Monday. Achim Dries and Marc Rubeau, responsible for occupational health and safety at VAHLE, personally handed over the face masks for the fire department in the presence of Kamen's mayor Elke Kappen.
City fire chief Rainer Balkenhoff emphasizes: "We are happy about any support. Unfortunately, even our resources in terms of protective equipment are used up at some point, so we are happy to accept any help we can get." Elke Kappen was also delighted with the donation from China: "It's simply wonderful to experience this solidarity."
VAHLE's European subsidiaries have also been equipped with FFP2 class protective masks to increase the safety of the workforce. This also ensures the ability to deliver. "Our subsidiaries - especially in the worst affected regions, Italy, Spain and France - can make very good use of this support. We are doing our utmost to ensure that our colleagues remain healthy," emphasizes Dries. All VAHLE subsidiaries remain open and continue to serve the warehouse and logistics applications with systems for energy and data transmission from mobile industrial applications.
