Product premiere - New high-performance conductor rail
Paul Vahle GmbH & Co. KG presents its newly developed compact conductor rail VCL (VAHLE COMPACT LINE) in March. The solution was designed for shuttle systems, automated small parts warehouses (AKL) and storage and retrieval machines (RGB) as well as for compact shuttle and transfer trolley applications in the small and medium capacity range.
Kamen, February 13, 2020 - "The intralogistics industry is demanding ever more dynamic warehouse solutions. We provide the basis for this with innovative products for reliable signal and power supply, such as our new VAHLE Compact Line compact conductor rail - VCL for short," says Rüdiger Jour, Product Manager at VAHLE. Thanks to its modular and compact design, the solution is specially designed for use in shuttle systems, miniload and stacker crane applications as well as transfer car applications in the low and medium performance range.
"Its modularity, scalability and simple installation set it apart from other systems," emphasizes Jour. The VCL can be individually configured according to the application, making it a multifunctional solution for continuous power supply. It is available with 2 to 6 poles and meets power requirements between 40 amps (galvanized steel conductor) and 100 amps (copper conductor) as well as voltages from 12 to 500 volts. In addition, the product is compatible with the proven VAHLE Multi-Carrier (VMT) and extends this with a cost-effective and compact solution for storage technology applications with large suspension distances of up to 3.5 meters.
Thanks to its ultra-compact design, the system can even be installed easily and simply within a shuttle rail. Low follow-up costs thanks to long-life carbon brushes are a further plus for the operator. As with all VAHLE products, safety is the top priority with the VCL: IP2x contact protection (finger protection and protection against foreign bodies) and an optional PE protective conductor guarantee trouble-free and accident-free operation.
With its space-saving new development, VAHLE is also responding to the special requirements of multi-channel logistics for online retail. Unlike in traditional warehouses, the variance of items is very high here, while the individual quantities per picking process are comparatively low. In order to take this into account, scalable small and midsize shuttle systems are increasingly being used in such cases, which only provide a small amount of installation space for the energy supply. These in turn require particularly compact energy supply systems.
