VAHLE and Swedish start-up Elonroad cooperate

Paul Vahle GmbH & Co KG, a leading global provider of energy and data transmission systems for mobile applications, is cooperating with the Swedish e-mobility start-up Elonroad. Both companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to announce their partnership. The aim is to develop innovative energy transmission solutions and expand the joint presence in the port industry.
"The collaboration between VAHLE and Elonroad brings together a unique combination of experience and expertise on an equal footing. Together we strive to set new standards in energy transmission and help shape a more sustainable future," says Achim Dries, CEO of the VAHLE Group. While the VAHLE Group can look back on over 100 years of experience in energy and data transmission, the Swedish start-up is contributing its "plugless" power transmission for electric vehicles to the partnership.
The innovative "plugless" technology enables e-vehicles to be charged directly while driving or parked. It is already being used in public transport and logistics centers and has proven to be reliable, efficient and cost-effective.
By combining their technologies and expertise, the two companies plan to develop a comprehensive solution to reduce the carbon footprint of container ports while increasing their operational efficiency. The in-motion charging technology, i.e. dynamic or wireless charging, from VAHLE and Elonroad is intended to enable a faster and more flexible energy supply for industrial vehicles. The technology should also help the industry to take a further step towards zero-emission terminals.
The CEOs of both companies, Karin Ebbinghaus and Achim Dries, are convinced of the positive development of their partnership. "We are looking forward to working together with Elonroad and see significant synergy effects from the cooperation," says Dries. "Together, we will shape the future of energy and data transmission in port technology and make a significant contribution to a more sustainable world."
Karin Ebbinghaus, CEO of Elonroad, says: "We are proud to have gained such an important partner in this industry segment as VAHLE to bring our technology to the port industry."
The cooperation partners are already in discussions with several major port terminal operators to implement potential projects.
