VAHLE secures energy supply for the logistics infrastructure of key industries
Paul Vahle GmbH & Co. KG supports the supply processes of many key industries as a system provider for mobile industrial applications. The innovative energy and data transmission systems from the Kamen-based company are an important component of numerous intralogistics processes.
Kamen, March 26, 2020 - In automated refrigerated warehouses for food, in crane and port technology or for transport systems within hospitals, VAHLE products reliably provide energy for mobile consumers. VAHLE therefore works according to a fixed emergency plan that is designed to safeguard operational business activities as well as production and supply chains. Special hygiene and safety measures have been taken to protect the health of the company's own staff.
"Our technology is at the heart of many automated processes in areas that are crucial to the provision of basic services to society," explains Achim Dries, Managing Director at VAHLE. "That's why we are doing everything we can to ensure that our partners can continue to supply people with food, pharmaceuticals and other essential goods during the coronavirus crisis." After all, a reliable energy supply is essential for the operation of automated logistics warehouses, crane systems and other mobile industrial applications. VAHLE system applications are also used in port technology and a renowned university hospital.
"If the power supply fails, the entire supply system does not implode immediately, but it would slow down considerably without the automated processes," says Dries. To avoid such bottlenecks, the employees work at full speed. Special hygiene and precautionary measures, such as working from home, flexible working hours and reduced staffing levels, protect the health of staff and minimize the risk of infection.
At present, the supply chains for the production processes in Kamen and Dortmund have not been affected. "We are confident that we will be able to maintain our production, maintenance and services under the current circumstances," reports Dries. The international subsidiaries also have sufficient storage capacity to ensure local supplies for the time being. Partners and suppliers can also find out about the current situation on the website or via the VAHLE newsletter.
"A very special thank you to our employees and of course to everyone else in the supermarkets, in the trucks, the logistics centers, the pharmacies, doctors' surgeries and hospitals and elsewhere, who push their limits every day to maintain a bit of normality and safety for our society. May they all stay healthy," says Dries.
