As a dual student in our IT team, you will learn how to design, implement and customize complex IT systems. You will be supported by friendly colleagues who you are always welcome to talk to. As an IT expert, you will be the first point of contact for all technical matters. This could be a crashed computer, the installation of new IT systems, the maintenance of devices or repairs of all kinds. You will also teach users how to use applications correctly in training courses and learn how to administer servers, networks and information security systems.
The nine-semester dual study program at VAHLE takes place in cooperation with Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts. It combines a high-quality computer science degree with training as an IT specialist for system integration, i.e. in-company training. As a dual student, you will not attend a vocational school, but will learn the theoretical content of the training and the course at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts. This gives you a double qualification right at the start of your career:
As planned, you will complete the apprenticeship in the sixth semester with the IHK examination and the course in the ninth semester with the B.Sc. degree.

The dual study program at VAHLE requires at least a high school diploma and good grades in German, math and English. In addition, curiosity and a thirst for knowledge in the field of computer science are essential. You must be prepared to learn independently and to invest a corresponding amount of time, even outside your working hours.
We pay your semester fees for the dual study program up to and including the ninth semester. We support you individually, you can carry out the necessary project work and practical phases at VAHLE and also use some of your working time for this. Your trainer will be happy to help you with any subject-specific questions at any time.
The dual study program in computer science is carried out in cooperation with Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts. You will learn the theoretical basics by attending the university of applied sciences and the practical aspects in our company. The course usually lasts nine semesters; after just three years, you will take the examination for training as an IT specialist for system integration at the Dortmund Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
