SPS 2026: VAHLE Integrates Power, Data, and Control into a Single System
From reliable energy supply to retrofitting existing systems: VAHLE will showcase new solutions for future-proof industrial automation at SPS 2026. Visitors can find the system provider in Hall 4, Booth 336.
Kamen/Nuremberg, October 1, 2026 – Paul Vahle GmbH & Co. KG will present its expanded range of solutions for mobile industrial applications at the Smart Production Solutions (SPS) trade show in Nuremberg from November 24 to 26, 2026. Under the guiding principle “Keep Industry in Motion,” the system provider from Kamen integrates power transmission, data communication, positioning, and control into a coordinated, comprehensive system. At booth 336 in Hall 4, VAHLE will demonstrate how this approach reduces complexity and helps make systems future-proof. The exhibition presence is complemented by solutions and services for retrofitting, monitoring, and long-term support of existing systems.
“The requirements for mobile industrial applications go far beyond mere power transmission. Competitive advantages do not arise from individual components, but rather from the intelligent interaction of the right technologies. That is exactly what we are showcasing at SPS with our 360-degree service portfolio,” says Andre Adolph, Director of the Automotive Business Unit at the VAHLE Group.
To this end, VAHLE is presenting its proven solutions for mobile industrial applications used, for example, in automotive manufacturing or intralogistics—such as electric overhead conveyor systems (EOC), push-type conveyor systems, automated storage systems, and crane systems. The focus here is not on the individual product, but on how systems can adapt to changing requirements and operate reliably for years to come.
Based on this, VAHLE has made “Generate The Perfect Fit” the central theme of its trade show presentation: power transmission, data communication, positioning, and control come together here to form a cohesive overall system. “This provides our customers with solutions from a single source rather than individual components,” says Adolph. This reduces the complexity of systems, simplifies the integration of new technologies, and makes system architectures more consistent, with less effort required at the interfaces.
New Solutions for Positioning, Communication, and Power
Several new products demonstrate exactly what this approach entails: With APOS Optic 2.0, VAHLE is introducing the new generation of its optical positioning system. “This combines higher performance, a more compact design, and easier integration into the VAHLE system portfolio of power supply, positioning, and control,” explains Adolph.
The system provider for mobile industrial applications has also consistently advanced its communication technology: SMG 2.0, the new generation of the slotted waveguide, stands for future-proofing, investment protection, scalability, and security, as well as support for modern communication standards. “Especially with regard to IT security, it is crucial that technology is not secured retroactively, but rather developed that way from the ground up,” Adolph emphasizes.
PowerNET ultimately demonstrates just how closely energy and communication are converging: The solution adds a communication function to the crane conductor rail, thereby easily transforming it into an automation system that combines power transmission and data communication in a single application.
Availability Throughout the Entire Lifecycle
As the degree of automation increases, so does the importance of system availability: Downtime becomes more costly, modernization cycles become shorter, and maintenance and service requirements become more complex. At SPS, VAHLE will demonstrate how service offerings are evolving from pure maintenance to actively contributing to system performance. The focus here is on the entire lifecycle of a system—and thus on a wide range of optimization opportunities. These range from retrofits and condition monitoring to monitoring and predictive maintenance, all the way to comprehensive lifecycle services and digital service offerings. “Those who invest in retrofits today not only extend a system’s service life but also gain time to plan the next modernization step at their own pace,” summarizes the head of the business unit.
One example of this is the new IC-PCM module. It uses pulse-code modulation (PCM), a method for converting analog signals into digital data. This enables the cost-effective modernization of existing control systems. The combination of stationary and mobile control supports customers on their path to digitalization while also contributing to higher system availability.
