Background
Kühlhaus Neuhof AG has been operating a deep-freeze warehouse for storing meat and all types of food in Gossau, Switzerland, for more than 40 years. The new building was completed in 2012. Contrary to expectations, the doubling of capacity achieved with the new building at that time was already reached towards the end of the second year of operation. The implementation of the fully automated deep-freeze warehouse was then commissioned from Gilgen Logistics AG in Oberwangen, Switzerland. The extension was officially inaugurated at the end of February 2019. VAHLE is electrifying the fully automated high-bay warehouse here. The capacity of the existing high-bay warehouse was increased from 5,780 to over 13,700 pallet spaces with two additional fully automated storage aisles. Approx. 500 meters of the 5-pole VKS 10 compact conductor rail are used.
The challenge
The expansion had to take place during ongoing operations. A conductor rail system was required that would ensure problem-free operation even under extreme external conditions - at temperatures from 5°C to -30°C degrees Celsius.
Our solution
The robust compact conductor rail type VKS 10 is used.
Added value for the customer
The customer receives a compact conductor rail system with high operating reserves, which is designed for extreme ambient conditions (temperatures well below freezing).
