Background
VAHLE was VANDERLANDE's project partner back in 2011 for the construction of the new Edeka-Südwest logistics center. Due to the positive cooperation, VAHLE systems were also used for the expansion of the meat products logistics center in Rheinstetten. Here, an automated small parts warehouse with highly dynamic multi-level shuttles was integrated into the fresh meat distribution center of Edeka-Südwest.
The challenge
The expansion had to take place during ongoing operations. In addition, a conductor rail system was required in which the energy and emergency stop transmission of the shuttle vehicles would ensure problem-free operation even under extreme external conditions - at temperatures ranging from 0 to -2 degrees Celsius.
Our solution
The robust VKS compact conductor rails were used in combination with redundant double current collectors and low-wear graphite brushes.
Added value for the customer
The customer receives a compact safety conductor rail system with high operating reserves, which is designed for extreme ambient conditions (temperatures around freezing point). Long maintenance intervals and maximum availability are achieved through the use of highly wear-resistant graphite carbon brushes.
