VAHLE hosts the Dortmund IHK foreign trade meeting
Paul Vahle GmbH & Co. KG hosted the meeting of the Foreign Trade Committee of the Dortmund Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) yesterday (September 12). The Foreign Trade Committee, which takes place twice a year, is an important platform for forming opinions and guarantees direct practical relevance and enables the exchange of experience at a professional level. In this context, VAHLE CEO Achim Dries welcomed around 30 committee members to the VAHLE Demo Center.
The event was opened by Heinz-Herbert Dustmann, President of the Dortmund Chamber of Industry and Commerce and Chairman of the Foreign Trade Committee. Dustmann, also Managing Director of Dula-Werke Dustmann & Co. GmbH, welcomed around 30 participants this time, including Wulf-Christian Ehrich, Deputy Managing Director of the Dortmund Chamber of Industry and Commerce and as such responsible for international matters.
Under item two on the agenda, Achim Dries, who as Managing Director of Paul Vahle GmbH & Co. KG also took on the role of host, began by introducing his company to the guests. He focused primarily on VAHLE's international activities and projects, which extend from Westicker Strasse in Kamen to Sao Paulo in Brazil and Houston in Texas.
In this context, Dries emphasized the high relevance of cross-border cooperation: "Although we are a medium-sized company, we still generate 70 percent of our turnover directly or indirectly on the international market." In addition, the VAHLE CEO was proud that his company is one of the so-called hidden champions and that its innovative and efficient solutions drive the development of the German economy and contribute to its global competitiveness.
The third item on the agenda dealt with current developments in the companies and the work of the IHK. Following the meeting, Dries invited participants on a tour of the company. The participants were given an insight into the various fully automated and individual VAHLES production and logistics processes and learned interesting facts about energy transmission and automation solutions.
The event concluded with a relaxed get-together, where participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas and make new contacts in a relaxed atmosphere.
